Hello everyone. My name is Lauren Chapman. I am a therapeutic intuitive and the creator of The Embodied Sense. I am playful and quirky at heart. I love to be in nature — exercising, gardening and observing the beauty in our natural world. Deep conversations, intellectual intimacy and humans sharing what makes them tick are my elixir. I learn so much from other people and our natural world.
Psychology and biology have been my passion since I was a child. I have always been fascinated by the intricacies of our human systems and the way they are impacted by our environment. I have always felt we have an untapped human potential in the realm of intuition, which is available to all of us. I feel passionate about expanding the current cultural lenses of psychology and biology to be more encompassing to that which we cannot see. I am fierce about the pain and disconnection which happens when we don’t see human beings clearly. Curiosity is my playground for learning about another human being. I see the power and necessity of connection for our growth and ability to thrive; we are wounded in connection and we heal in connection. This complexity creates a condition where we crave the very thing which has pained us. This makes it a breeding ground for neuroses, trauma and therefore our greatest growth.
Intuition is an important part of my therapeutic container. I believe it allows me to see and understand my clients on a deeper level. Instead of trying to fit people into my paradigm where aspects of them may be missed, my intuition asks me to stretch. I focus on embodiment because I believe that the body is a channel for the alchemy of emotions. Regulating and re-collecting aspects of ourselves allows deeper inner communication and cellular unity, which facilitate healing.
My relationship to my intuition is something which I have always had access to, yet never had language for. As a child I was always picking up on the undercurrents or unspoken aspects of dynamics. This was often challenging to relay, especially to people who did not want to be seen. Over time I learned to keep it to myself. At the age of 23, my mentor saw my ability and created a container for me to practice in. Together we created language and brought awareness to a process which had become largely subconscious. Now, as part of my work I track those undercurrents to find energy lines which are available, and work with my clients to create a resonant framework for their connections. One of the greatest gifts for me in my intuition is a deep remembering that we are all connected through time, space, and beyond this container.
In my current life, I live near a magical town on the Baja Peninsula, where we nurture the land and connect to natural rhythms. I am “mama” to a magical being named Kezia, who guided me in the energy realms before she graced the shores of my life in physical form five years ago. Since then we have been engaged in what I like to call “intuitive dynamic parenting.” She is a great teacher and simultaneously shattering and deepening my understanding.
I am blessed to navigate love and parenting with my partner in life Leo Jenkins — author, poet, philosopher, pontificator, alchemist and lifelong student and teacher. He guides me to the depths of healing and shows me the capacity of love. Together we strive for balance, awareness and growth in our lives.
When we are not working, you will find us dancing, playing, cultivating, creating, advancing, rolling, cooking, adventuring, discussing, exercising, packing, unpacking, hugging, going, staying, loving and of course more playing.
Play is something that is very important to me. So much so that the work I offer clients is infused with it — even through the challenges. This is a little about me and I would love to learn more about you!
